Whenever there is a Friday the 13th, Port Dover, Ontario hosts some of the largest bike events. It was 82 degrees and perfect weather for the 2 hour ride from Buffalo to Port Dover. I left at sunrise and returned late in the afternoon.

Very good quartet. If I’m not mistaken, the lead formerly sang baritone with the All Stars from Buffalo.
@@radarice2 yes sir, that’s me. Jerry Thompson sang baritone when they won the Seneca LD championship back in 72.
Correction. Jerry Tonnell was the All Stars baritone when they won the Seneca Land District quartet contest in 1970 in Niagara Falls. Jerry Thompson took Jerry Tonnell’s place when Tonnell (an Air Force Major) was reassigned from SUNY at Buffalo to Lackland AFB, Texas immediately after Tonnell sang with The All Stars when they competed at the International in New Orleans in 1971.
Continuing. “Place after Tonnell (an Air Force major) was reassigned from SUNY at Buffalo to Lackland AFB, TX immediately after Tonnell sang with the All Stars at the International in New Orleans in 1971.
The All Stars at the International in New Orleans in 1971.
@@radarice2 I learned something today. I have the plaque medallion and other All Stars memorabilia.
💚🇮🇹💚
Thanks!
So cool that you put this together Gary
I first heard this performed by showband from Dayton, Ohio called The Colleagues back in the mid 70's. I have it on an LP they recorded.
I sang with the Chordsmen back in the 70's; Wally Evans, Eddie Gawronski, Bob Lamma, all shaped my life. Thanks! I'm stopping in when I visit home again.
@@chipengler5899 Please do. Would love to sing one with you….our active member numbers are small, but we are doing our best to keep the Charter and the Chapter alive. The Buffalo Bills quartet is our inspiration. I knew Wally and Bob very well when I came on the scene in the late 80’s. Thanks for chiming in and I look forward to meeting you. Mondays at 7:30, St John Lutheran Church in Lancaster, NY
I sang with this group at the Ellicott Manor in Lancaster back in the mid 70's. Awesome job guys! Wally Evans, Bob Lamma, Eddie Gawronski, great people really shaped my life.
I quit going back in the '80's. It stopped being fun for me. Too many posers, and tourists. Hell some even trailer their bikes to it now.
A great day, with great weather, and great people.
A gathering of rough looking individuals 😂
The only bike rally in the world where bites are not allowed to park on Main Street. They have taken a once great event and turned it into a joke.
They used to. This way is better, doesn’t take hours to ride through the crowd when you want to leave.
@@glewlew if you’re worried about the crowd, then don’t go to an event like this. I go to events like this to see the bikes, not walk-through neighbourhoods where they’re forcing bikes to park way out of the area. Take the vendors put them back in the park put the bikes back on Main Street where they should be. It’s a bike event, not a vendor event. And if you’re worried about the traffic getting out, stay home.
@@1dilligaf wow. Didn’t know your entire personality was defined by this one event.
@@glewlew couldn’t care less about this event started going in 94. Haven’t been there in the last four years even though I only live 20 minutes away. But if you ever wanna know how to ruin a one time great event, just take a look at what port Dover has done.
@@1dilligaf ‘94? I rode my brand new 1985 Springer to Friday 13th. Event didn’t attract 100k+ riders back then, and now it does. They tried parking bikes down the main drag and it was a shit show. Everybody seemed pretty happy to me last Friday.
in hwich ocuntry it is? and city name?
@@pyrotechniefeuxnationauxet1843 it is near Buffalo, New York.
Hmmmmm 🤔
Thanks for posting. Enjoyed the All Stars Quartet.
I love this song. Well Done Ladies & Gentlemen
How sick is this video!!! So Bad, ands I'm from Binghamton.
OMG so fun! Gave me a little vertigo tho LOL!
Very nicely done, Gary! I wish I could have been there! Hopefully you will compose many more videos like this in the future starring SCOL members! 😀🤩⛷👍
I hope so too!
Just brilliant! So much talent here!
Well done ✅
I was the baritone of the All Stars when they won the Seneca Land District Quartet championship in 1970. I also sang with them in New Orleans at the SPEBSQSA International competition in 1971 in the SuperDome. Sadly the US Air Force reassigned me to San Antonio in July 1971. Pat, Jim, and Bob were the greatest of fellows and we, as well as our wives, became fast friends. I was assigned as Commandant of Cadets at SUNY at Buffalo from 1969-1971 at a time when anti-war protesters focused their wrath on us and our cadets. It was a very trying time for us. However, the bright spot was our neighbors on Callodine Avenue, members of the All Stars, and Buffalo’s Queen City Barbershop chapter. Thank you Buffalo for the support and friendship you offered. Jerry Tonnell, Lt Col, USAF (Retired)
So good to hear from you Jerry. From one All-Stars baritone to another. In case you did not know, Marian Brandel passed last week and celebration of life is planned for March 6th. She will be missed. The Buffalo Chapter is alive and well. Directed by Jack Trenchard and you likely know Denny Johnson…also singing with us. If you are in the neighborhood, hope we can find a Bb and sing one. Maybe Jimmy McDonnell will join us to honor those who have gone before. Regards, Gary
@@gruxer We were so sorry to learn of the passing of Marian Brandel. She and Bob married during the time we sang with the All Stars. Norma and I have lived in Montgomery, AL since 1975. We both still sing in the chancel choir and,at times, with a Praise Team. We continued to sing after we left Buffalo. Norma served for 22 years as the Montgomery Sweet Adeline Chorus director from 1979-2001. I sang baritone in The Harmony Express quartet (1990-1998). Someone posted parts of a 1993 show we did on RUclips - under Harmony Express - part 2. Thanks so much for keeping in touch. You are an excellent baritone. Jerry
The best of times!🙏💪❤️
Nice job!
Joe Krones! One of my favorite basses of all time!
I don't think a week has gone by since 1992 that Joe hasn't popped to mind for one reason or another, and I've been searching probably as long for a recording of his live lead on "Hodja" (which always sounded more smooth to me than the NATURALLY version.) That it comes from the Concept show at the Union, which I was there for, is even better. Thank you for this, truly.
So glad you found it. Although I never sang with Sir Joe, I spent enough time around him to know that he was the best of what it meant to be a Crosby. He gave us smiles and awesome stage presence every time he performed. He has always been missed.
Love this! Dad was a barbershopper !! His name was Chet Biehls . Mom,myself and my sister were all in sweet adelines ! A
Hi Sandy. Absolutely miss Chet and think of him often. He was very important to our local and regional Barbershop Society indeed. A real leader.
@@gruxer thank you. About the only thing he loved more than barbershopping was his family.

Great job guys!! Thanks for sharing Gary! :-)
Rest in peace, Great-Grandpa Grapes. I'll always miss our Thanksgiving trips to Buffalo.
This sounds a lot like Louis Hemingway's arrangement. Is it the same arrangement?
Beautifully performed!! Music Man lives on!!

Thank you… crystal clear & achingly beautiful ❤️🇺🇸❤️ My father started this tradition that has now become“Taps Across America.” 9 years ago one of his neighbors contacted Steve Hartman of CBS news regarding his neighbor who played Taps from his balcony every evening at sunset for as long as I can remember. Here was his original interview with Steve Hartman. ruclips.net/video/83zvu1-b8jo/видео.html So proud of him and now the many Americans who are inspired to honor those who have served... 🇺🇸 Daddy is now 88 years old and still playing! He will be making his contribution to this beautiful tradition today at 3:00 pm. God bless you, & thank you 🙏
